Hierarch of the Orthodox Church of Antioch venerates Moscow shrines

On 6-8 June 2018, with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, Metropolitan Antonios of Zahleh and Baalbek (Patriarchate of Antioch) undertook a pilgrimage to Moscow.

On the first day, Vladyka Antonios, accompanied by Metropolitan Niphon of Philippopolis, representative of the Patriarch of the Great Antioch and All the East to the Moscow Patriarchal Throne, visited the Sretensky Stavropegic Monastery and venerated its shrines. The hierarchs were shown around its churches, including the Church of the Resurrection of Christ and New Martyrs and Confessors of the Russian Church, consecrated by His Holiness Patriarch Kirill in 2017.

The high guests also paid a visit to the Sretenskaya Seminary and met with its students.

On June 7, Metropolitan Antonios of Zahleh and Baalbek and Metropolitan Niphon of Philippopolis visited the Stavropegic Convent of the Protecting Veil of the Mother of God, where they venerated the holy relics of Blessed Matrona of Moscow.
