July 26, 2019 – Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, head of the Moscow Patriarchate department for external church relations (DECR), who is in Greece with a blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, met with Russia’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Greece A. M. Maslov. 

They discussed a wide range of issues of mutual concern. Special attention was given to the work with compatriots residing in Greece. The exchange of opinions was continued at dinner, which was given by the ambassador in honour of the high guest from the Russian Orthodox Church.

They were joined in their talk and dinner by Archpriest Igor Yakimchuk, DECR secretary for inter-Orthodox relations, and Mr. O. N. Bredikhin, counsellor-minister of the Russian embassy in Greece.

After the talk, Metropolitan Hilarion presented Mr. Maslov with a token of the meeting.
