On 11th – 13th December 2019, the Religions for Peace International organized a meeting in New York, bringing together over 200 representatives of religious traditions from various countries.
The participants in the meeting discussed a strategic plan for the 2020-2025 term and summarized the results of the organization’s activities over the period which has passed since the Religions for Peace 10th World Assembly held in the city of Lindau, Germany, in August 2019. Prof. Azza Karam, Religions for Peace Secretary General Elect, highlighted the prospects of promoting cooperation between the RfP and the United Nations in different spheres.
With the blessing of Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations, Rev. Dimitry Safonov, DECR secretary for interreligious relations, took part in the meeting.
