On April 12, 2021, the representative of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia to the Patriarch of Antioch and All the East, Hegumen Arseny (Sokolov), accompanied by the second secretary of the Russian Embassy in Syria, Mr. I. A. Bokov, visited the Al-Amal (“Hope”) School in Damascus for children with disabilities. At present, there are 165 disabled children in the school, with over 80 of them unable to move on their own.

Father Arseny and Mr. Bokov delivered to the school 142 packages with diapers (altogether 1846 pieces) which were purchased with the personal funds of the Canadian benefactor of Russian background, Mr. Alexis Fiset.

The Director of the Al-Amal School Mr. Mosab al-Kanj warmly thanked them for the aid and said that this supply of diapers would last the school for about 15-20 days.
