On April 26, 2021, the Great Monday, the Russian and Greek clergy, as well as diplomats of the Russian Federation embassy in Israel lifted up the traditional prayer for peace in Jerusalem. The common prayer in Church Slavonic and Greek is said annually in Jerusalem on the threshold of Pascha according to the tradition laid down by the Russian Foundation of St. Andrew the-First-Called.

In the Lesser Hall of the Patriarchate of Jerusalem, the clergy of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission and Russian diplomats were warmly welcomed by Patriarch Theophilos III of the Holy City of Jerusalem and All Palestine and the clergy of the Brotherhood of Holy Sepulchre.

After the welcoming speeches, Patriarch Theophilos and Archimandrite Alexander (Elisov), head of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in Jerusalem, said the prayer for peace in Jerusalem. They were joined by Russian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary A. D. Viktorov and the embassy staff.
