Liturgy celebrated for the first time in 23 years at the Serbian church of Christ the Savior in Pristina

On July 10, 2021, the Feast of the Ascension of the Lord, Bishop Theodosius of Pristina (Kosovo) celebrated the first Divine Liturgy since 1988 in the half-constructed church of Christ the Saviour, the official website of the diocese of Raska-Prizren and Kosovo-Metohija of the Serbian Orthodox Church report.

After the service, Bishop Theodosije, according to the Serbian tradition, broke Slavic colach and called everybody to pray ardently that the construction of the church of Christ the Saviour may be eventually finished to become a place for worship and an adornment to the city.

‘We testify that we will never abandon our shrines, that they belong to us and are a guarantee of our eternal life. Although we have assembled today in a small number, we are a seed for future Christians and for better times when this church will be completed and filled with worshipers’, the bishop said.
