His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus' congratulated His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufry of Kiev and All Ukraine on the anniversary of his enthronement.

His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufry of Kiev and All Ukraine

Your Beatitude, beloved Vladyka in the Lord:

I wholeheartedly greet you with an anniversary of your ascension to the ancient see of Metropolitans of Kiev.

Seven years have passed since by the will of the Holy Spirit and through election of the Council of Bishops of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church you were called to the primatial ministry entailing hard work and great responsibility for the destiny of the millions of Christians entrusted to your paternal care.

During all these years, with God’s help you have been trampling down the demons’ feeble insolence aimed at undermining church unity, courageously counteracting various attempts to change the centuries-old canonical order, tirelessly caring for the development of the diocesan and parish life and calling people to follow the commandments of the Gospel.

While sharing with you and with the plenitude of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church the joy of today’s celebration, I would like to prayerfully wish Your Beatitude strength, abundant help from above and success in your future ministry which you are performing to the glory of God and for the good of your children in spirit seeking salvation.

May the Lord be generous to you and keep you in good health for many years.

With love in Christ,

+ KIRILL
PATRIARCH OF MOSCOW AND ALL RUS'
