With a blessing of His Holiness and Beatitude Iliya II, Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, a group of pilgrims from the Georgian Orthodox Church visited Ukraine for the celebrations devoted to the 1033th anniversary of the Baptism of Rus’.

On July 27 and 28, the guests from Georgia took part in the procession with the cross and festive Liturgy at the Kiev-Pechersk Laura, during which His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufriy of Kiev and All Georgia conveyed greetings to the Primate of the Georgian Church.

The pilgrims, accompanied by representatives of the Pilgrimage Center of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, venerated the honourable relics of men of God in the caves of the Kiev-Pechersk Laura of the Dormition, visited several churches in Kiev, the Trinity Monastery of St. Jonas and the Monastery of the Presentation of the Mother of God in the Temple and monastic cloisters in Kietayevo, Goloseyevo and Feofania.

Then the faithful of the Georgian Orthodox Church went to the Pochayev Laura of the Dormition and spent three days in it taking part in divine services.
