Primate of Albanian Orthodox Church meets with UOC delegation

On September 6, 2021, with a blessing of His Beatitude Onufriy, Metropolitan of Kiev and All Ukraine, a delegation of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church visited Tirana, where they met with the Primate of the Albanian Orthodox Church, His Beatitude Anastasios, Archbishop of Tirana and All Albania. 

They were joined by Metropolitan Anthony of Borispol and Brovary, chancellor of the UOC; Metropolitan Sergiy of Ternopol and Kremenets; Archpriest Nikolay Danilevich, deputy head of the UOC Department for External Church Relations; Archimandrite Germogen (Melnik), the Skete of the Holy Spirit, Pochaev Monastery; and Rev. Vasily Prits, staff member of the UOC DECR. 

Together with Archbishop Athanasios, the UOC delegation was welcomed by Metropolitan Anthony of Elbasan, Metropolitan Nathanael of Amantia and Bishop Astios of Byllis. 

In the beginning of the meeting, Metropolitan Anthony presented His Beatitude Athanasios with a translation of his book entitled Mission in the Steps of Christ made this year in the Kiev Theological Academy. 

The discussion concerned pressing problems of church life. According to representatives of the Ukrainian delegation, it was a brotherly talk held in a warm atmosphere. 

In Tirana, the UOC delegation visited the Cathedral of the Holy Resurrection and the church of the Nativity of Christ.
