The Damascus Representation of the Russian Orthodox Church in Syria continues to take part in giving humanitarian aid to the capital city Amal School with its 150 children with disabilities. On September 22, 2021, a regular supply of health aids including disposable diapers was brought to the school. The funds for purchasing them were donated by Orthodox benefactors residing in Canada.

After the deliverance of the humanitarian aid, a talk took place between Hegumen Arseny (Sokolov), representative of the Russian Orthodox Church to the Patriarchal See of Antioch, and the new director of the Amal school Ms. Ferial Hamid. Ms. Hamid expressed warm gratitude for the aid and informed Father Arseny about the pressing needs of the school, such as wheelchairs and school stationary. Father Arseny, on his part, expressed readiness to continue helping with giving humanitarian aid to the school.

In the past academic year, the Damascus Representation of the Russian Orthodox Church helped bring to the Amal school three consignments of humanitarian aid consisting of wheelchairs and personal hygienic aids.

Taking part in the Hegumen Arseny’s talk with the director of the specialized school was Ms. Z. I. Kolpakova, manager of the household of the ROC Damascus Representation.
