By the Decree No 570 of October 3, 2021, state awards were conferred on a number of clergy of the Russian Orthodox Church.

Hegumen Arseny (Sokolov), representative of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia to the Patriarch of Antioch, is awarded the Order of Friendship; Archpriest Nikolay Balashov, vice-chairman of the Department of External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate, is awarded the Order of Alexander Nevsky; Archpriest Vladimir Nazarkin, assistant to the DECR chairman - the Order of Honour, reports the official internet-portal of legal information.

As is noted in the document, the high state awards were conferred “in acknowledgment of the great contribution made to the development of international and inter-confessional relations and long-standing conscientious work.
