The Russian Orthodox Church participates in bringing gifts to disabled children in Syria

On December 28, 2021, the representative of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia to the Patriarchal See of Antioch, Hegumen Arseny (Sokollov), conveyed another supply of humanitarian aid to the Amal (Hope) School in Damascus, in which children with orthopaedic injuries are taught. The supply consisted of blood pressure devices, a printer and 150 Christmas gifts.

The humanitarian supply collected in Moscow with the support of the Egzeget internet portal, the Moscow Government, and the National Veterans’ Organization “Boyevoye Bratstvo” (Combat Brotherhood) was delivered to Syria by an aircraft of the Russian military transport aviation.

Present at the handing the humanitarian aid over to the school was the second secretary of the Russian Federation embassy in the Syrian Arab Republic, Mr. O. I. Popkov.

The director of the school Mr. Yunus Abbas thanked the Damascus Representation of the Russian Orthodox Church for its concern for the needs of his school.
