On December 30, 2021, at the Church of the Dormition of the Most Holy Theotokos located at Olšany cemetery in Prague, special prayers were offered up for the repose of the soul of His Beatitude Dorotej, Archbishop of Prague and Metropolitan of the Czech Lands and Slovakia who led this Local Church for over thirty-five years.

Archbishop Michael of Prague and the Czech Lands celebrated the Divine Liturgy assisted by archpriest Nikolay Lischenyuk, rector of the church of Ss Peter and Paul – the Russian Orthodox Church Representation in Karlovy Vary, and clergymen of the Diocese of Prague.

After the Liturgy, a requiem service for Metropolitan Dorotej was conducted and flowers were laid at his tomb near the Church of the Dormition.

Archbishop Michael thanked all those who commemorated Metropolitan Dorotej whose archpastoral labour had provided fundamental basis for the formation of the Orthodox Church of the Czech Lands and Slovakia.

After the service, Archbishop Michael congratulated archpriest Nikolay Lischenyuk on the 20th anniversary of his ministry in Czechia.
