On January 22, 2022, Afterfeast of the Theophany, the Divine Liturgy was celebrated by Hegumen Arseny (Sokolov), representative of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia to the Patriarchal See of Antioch, at the Damascus Representation of the Russian Orthodox Church.

The liturgical assembly included N. V. Sukhov, head of the Rossotrudnichestvo, the Federal Agency for Humanitarian Cooperation, and the parishioners of the Representation’s domestic chapel.

After the liturgy, the Office of the Dead was held for recently deceased Metropolitan Vladimir (Kotlyarov), the oldest retired hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church who died on January 19. After the prayer for the dead, Hegumen Arseny related to the parishioners about the life journey of the deceased. From 1965-1966, His Eminence Vladimir, then Bishop of Podolsk, served as representative of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia to the Patriarch of Antioch in Damascus.
