On January 27, 2022, at the building of the St. Petersburg diocesan administration in the Holy Trinity Alexander Nevsky Lavra, a meeting was held between Metropolitan Varsonofy of St. Petersburg and Ladoga and a delegation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland.

Among the participants of the meeting were Bishop Seppo Häkinen of the Diocese of Mikkeli of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland, head of the delegation, secretary of the Diocese of Mikkeli Pastor Timo Rosquist, rector of the Church of the Apostles Peter and Paul (ELCF) in Vyborg Pastor Vladimir Dorodny.

The meeting was also attended by the head of the protocol department of the St. Petersburg diocese Ivan Sudosa.

Welcoming the guests, Metropolitan Varsonofy spoke, in particular, about the upcoming memorable dates in 2022: the 280th anniversary of the St. Petersburg diocese and the 100th anniversary of the prayer vigil during the 1922 process of removal of jewelry from churches in Russia.
