As a result of interfaith disputes, two churches of the Rovno diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church were closed - the Church of the Nativity of the Mother of God in the village of Stadniki, Ostrozhsky district, and the Exaltation of the Cross Church in the village of Vovnichi, Bokiymovsky rural community, Rovne region, "The Orthodox Life" portal reports.

The Church of the Nativity of the Mother of God in the village of Stadniki, which back in 2019, as a result of documents forgery, was illegally transferred to the schismatic "Orthodox Church of Ukraine", had been sealed.

On the morning of May 15, 2022, without waiting for the outcome of the case in court, OCU supporters blocked the entrance to the church and demanded that the community of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church change jurisdiction. Having been refused, the schismatics wanted to cut off the door locks. The resulting conflict escalated into a violent confrontation, several believers of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church got hurt.

The police officers, who came to the call of the parishioners, offered to seal the church, and the village headman drew up the necessary document. After its signing, the OCU supporters left the territory of the parish, and the religious community of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church held a service in the church house.

In the village of Vovnichi, the Exaltation of the Cross church was closed after its rector and most of the parishioners had refused to switch to the OCU.

On May 15, two meetings were held in the village - a meeting of the religious community and of local residents. Of the 30 participants in the parish meeting, only five expressed a desire to switch to the OCU, the rest remained faithful to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

The meeting of local residents, which also brought together people from other villages, by a majority of votes, decided to change the jurisdiction of the parish by making appropriate changes to the charter of the religious community. After the meetings, the Exaltation of the Cross church was closed.
