On May 22, 2022, more than one hundred faithful were refused entry to the church of the Ascension of the Lord of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in the village of Sulimov, Lvov region, by representatives of a radical organization, the Union of Orthodox Journalists reports with reference to the Pershy Kozatsky telegram channel.

More locks to the church were installed. At that time, there were about fifty OCU supporters in the church performing their rituals.

According to local residents, signatures started being collected in the village in order to “transfer” the local community of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church to the OCU as early as on May 6. Unknown to the faithful, the church of the canonical Church was re-registered to the schismatic “Orthodox Church of Ukraine.”

On May 20, representatives of the local authorities invited Orthodox Christians to a meeting and informed them about the re-registration of the statute. The meeting was attended by two OCU "clerics," the police and representatives of the United Territorial Community who demanded to give them the keys to the church.

The parishioners of the Ascension church offered the invaders to take turns in celebrating, but they refused.
