On 22nd May 2024 an international online conference was held at the Nursultan Nazarbayev Centre for the Development of Inter-confessional and Inter-religious Dialogue. The conference was dedicated to the topic of the role of religious leaders in attaining a stable peace.

The forum participants were leaders and representatives of traditional religions, international and state organizations, and specialists from Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Great Britain, India, Pakistan and other countries. Among them were representatives of the Orthodox, Catholic, Lutheran, Anglican, Muslim, Jewish and other communities.

On behalf of the Russian Orthodox Church taking part in the conference were the chancellor of the Kazakhstan metropolitanate the bishop of Kaskelen Gennadius and secretary for inter-religious relations of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate Fathe Ilya Kashitsyn.

The participants of the event, which was held as part of a project set up by the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, discussed the state of inter-religious relations in the world and exchanged opinions on the ministry of religious leaders in contemporary conditions.
