From 27th September to 2nd October, with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’ and at the invitation of His Holiness Catholicos-Patriarch Mar Awa III of the Assyrian Church of the East, Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Department for External Church Relations, visited Iraq.
On October 1, at the invitation of Archbishop Nicodemus DaoudSharaf of Mosul, Kirkuk and Kurdistan, Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, Chairman of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate, visited the Cathedral of the Most Holy Mother of God of the Syriac Orthodox Diocese in Erbil.
On October 1, Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, Chairman of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate, met with Mr. Kaldo Ramzi, Director General for the Preservation of Assyrian Cultural Heritage of the Ministry of Culture of the Kurdish Autonomous Region of Iraq.
On September 30, in the village of Kerstentsy in the Chernivtsi region, supporters of the “OCU” seized the Transfiguration church, which had previously belonged to the local community of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

On 29th September, at the Central Residence of the Assyrian Catholicoi-Patriarchs in Erbil, Kurdistan Region of Iraq, a meeting took place between Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, Chairman of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate, and His Holiness Mar Awa III, Catholicos-Patriarch of the Assyrian Church of the East.
