Feast of the Triumph of Orthodoxy celebrated at the Russian Orthodox Church’s Representation in Damascus News

At the Russian Orthodox Church’s Representation in Damascus, Hegumen Arseniy (Sokolov), representative of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia to the Patriarch of the Great Antioch and All the East, conducted divine services on the first week of Lent and on March 8, 2020, Sunday of the Triumph of Orthodoxy, celebrated the Divine Liturgy.

Praying in the church were Russian students currently studying in Syria, as well as Russian benefactress Ms. V.A. Lantseva, who is undertaking a humanitarian trip to Syria, and a small of group of parishioners – the children of the Russian Orthodox Church residing in Damascus and its suburbs.

After the Liturgy Fr. Arseniy greeted all those present with the Feast of the Triumph of Orthodoxy marking the end of the first week of Lent.

A repast followed.
