Cleric of Russian Orthodox Church celebrates Liturgy in Namibian capital city

On March 14, 2020, the Saturday of the 2nd Week of the Great Lent, the rector of the St. Sergius of Radonezh church in Johannesburg, South Africa, Archpriest Daniel Lugovoy, celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Namibian capital city of Windhoek. 

The facility for the service, a chapel, was granted by the St. Charles Lwanda Major Seminary of the Catholic Church. Before the liturgy, the chapel was decorated with Orthodox icons and flowers.

During the service, which was celebrated in Church Slavonic, Greek and English, the choir of the Orthodox community in Windhoek sang for the first time. After the Divine Liturgy, the Office for the Dead was said.

After the liturgy, there was a tea party, during which participants in the service discussed the development of the Russian-speaking community in Windhoek, Patriarhia.ru reports with reference to the website of the St. Sergius church.
