On December 7, 2021, Archpriest Nikolay Balashov, vice-chairman of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate, and a delegation of the Foundation for Support of Christian Culture and Heritage led by the Foundation’s executive director, Ye. I. Skopenko, on the invitation of Bishop Fotije of Zvornik and Tuzla, visited the Monastery of Blessed Matrona of Moscow at the village of Ritesic, Republika Serpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The father superior of the monastery, Hegumen Isaija (Lukic), a graduate of the Moscow Theological Academy, warmly welcomed the guests. He showed them the church of Bless Matrona, the main church of the monastery, which is being adorned with the support of the Russian Orthodox Church and assistance of the Foundation since 2020, the lower church of St. Seraphim of Sarov, in which divine services are celebrated, as well as the dwelling and auxiliary facilities of the monastery.
The improvement work in the Monastery of Blessed Matrona of Moscow carried out with the help of the Foundation is planned to be completed in 2023.
