The book “The Russian Church Is on Guard of Orthodoxy in the 21st Century” by Archpriest Andrey Novikov, a member of the Synodal Biblical-Theological Commission, has come out. The edition is devoted to an analysis of the situation developed in the world Orthodox community in recent years because of the aggressive attempts of the Patriarchate of Constantinople to impose on Local Churches a new ecclesiology that presumes that the Ecumenical Patriarch has special rights.

The author, a well-known Orthodox publicist and expert in church history and canon law consistently defends the old ecclesial-canonical tradition, opposing the latter-day theoreticians and practical experts in “Eastern papism”.

The edition prepared by the Poznaniye Publishers in cooperation with the Foundation of Support for Christian Culture and Heritage is a continuation of the series of books “For the Unity of the Church” devoted to international and inter-Orthodox relations. Among the next publications to come out in the nearest future are “Relations between the Serbian and Russian Orthodox Churches on the Basis of Russian Archive Documents” by Bishop Anthony of Moravici (Serbian Orthodox Church); “The Intra-Trinitarian Monarchy of the Father and Monk Seraphim, a Latter-Day Monarch of Fanar’s Ecclesiology” by Monk Seraphim (Zisis), Orthodox Church of Greece; “The Russian Church and the Disintegration of Yugoslavia” by A. Yu. Khoshev; “The Primacy of Constantinople. Facts against Myths” by P. V. Kuzenkov, at al.
